Marriage & Cross-Cultural Couples.

Marriage &

For couples navigating language, family-of-origin expectations, and cultural differences — counseling in the language your relationship actually happens in. English, Spanish, or Korean, often a mix.

We work with couples who love each other but feel lost in translation — across cultures, across communication styles, across different ideas of what family should look like. Sessions focus on what's actually keeping you stuck, not on communication scripts.

What we work on

Communication breakdown and repetitive conflict. Cultural and family-of-origin differences. Rebuilding trust after betrayal or distance. Parenting disagreements across cultural frameworks. Intimacy, emotional safety, and reconnection. Couples considering separation who want to try first.

Cross-cultural specificity

Many couples carry a dynamic where one partner's cultural norms feel invisible to the other. We surface those dynamics explicitly — not to assign blame, but to help both partners understand the lens each is looking through. Sessions may move between English, Spanish, and Korean as needed. No interpreters. No simplifying.

Format and fees

Couples counseling is offered on a self-pay basis. Sessions are 45–55 minutes. In-person in Katy or hybrid. Insurance typically does not cover couples counseling unless tied to a diagnosable condition — self-pay keeps the focus on your relationship, not a billing code.

Do both partners need to come to every session?

Most sessions include both partners. Occasionally an individual session is useful to support the process — we'll discuss if and when that makes sense.

Does insurance cover couples counseling?

Typically not. Couples counseling is self-pay, which keeps it focused on your relationship rather than a diagnostic requirement.

Can we do sessions in Spanish or Korean?

Yes. Sessions can happen in English, Spanish, Korean, or a natural mix depending on what feels right for the conversation.
